This shot isn’t great when compared to the many weasel images I was able to during this shoot, but it’s special to me because it is my first, sharp shot of a weasel. Ever. Getting a weasel image has been on my bucket list for some time and finally, one afternoon while killing time photographing pikas, Jill spotted a weasel. My personal weasel whisperer eventually found their den, making the photography slightly easier, but when I captured this shot, I was scrambling, somewhat recklessly, higher and higher up a literal rock glacier. This image was the return on my investment, which even at 1/2000 of a second, just managed to freeze the extremely quick little guy jumping from hole to hole in search of dinner.
