I’ve written before that this photo was taken during a sequence that easily ranks as the best sunset I’ve ever had a chance to photograph. I probably took fifty images as the thunderhead morphed into a gigantic X to mark the spot of its impending furry, while the sun slowly burned into bright pink behind the cloudy curtain, before setting for good that summer night. And while many of the images have been shared across out platforms, this is a shot often forgotten. Before the sun re-appeared for its stunning encore, I took this image which displays the brilliant variations of blues and greys that sparkled between the lake and the sky. It might not be as dramatic as others I took that night, but it’s most certainly my favourite. Artist Toni Onley would have loved the moment.
