There are some locations that you simply can’t photograph enough and Waterton Valley Overlook is one of them. Year after year, I go back to this little appreciated spot. Why? Because every day offers a new perspective, new light, new cloud formations. It’s always different. And while you’ll find many photos from this location in our image galleries, I think this is my favourite. With a massive storm having finally lifted from over the peaks, the last light of the setting sun set the sky ablaze and provided a beautiful juxtaposition with the lingering dark clouds in the foreground. Interestingly, the only reason I got the shot was because our fox family, who we were spending time with, hated rain and took cover for the night, forcing me to focus on landscape photography.
