This is one of those great moments you wish you could have a do-over. During Jill’s first few days in Yellowstone, we came across the alpha female of the Canyon Pack. After a brief viewing, we moved down the road in the hope that the wolf would appear again. She did. Sadly, I wasn’t prepared and even though I had the camera on a tripod, I literally held the camera, with tripod, in the air to take the photo, rather than moving the tripod head. My excited shaking and lack of diligence to the camera’s settings didn’t help either. Still, it’s not a bad image of a beautiful wolf who I may never have the chance to photograph again.
