In a year when Jill asked the photographic Gods for coyotes, this was the first – and my favourite – coyote encounter of the many we had during the summer of 2013. This coyote has hung around Sedge Bay for years, but in the pre-dawn hours, we were treated to an hour long show as it hunted for marmots. This image doesn’t get as much play from us as it is not terribly unique, but I love the look it gives the camera – and I love the light.
