Canada 150

Happy Canada Day!

This year is Canada’s 150th birthday and it doesn’t come without controversy. To celebrate the incredible nation in which we live, while acknowledging that we’re far from perfect and have a long road ahead if we are to achieve meaningful reconciliation with our indigenous communities, Simon will be part of a unique endeavour.

The Canada C3 expedition will travel from coast to coast to coast, via the Northwest Passage, in 150 days to mark the nation’s birth. The goal? Connect with all Canadians in the hopes of touching off a deeper conversation about our land, our people and our history.

Simon is one of the three hundred community leaders, indigenous elders, artists, scientists, journalists and educators selected to be part of the journey – one that will tackle issues surrounding youth leadership, the environment and reconciliation. In addition to sharing his work as a storyteller for Ghost Bear and an advocate for nature, Simon will be offering his insights from the successful, two decade-long Spirit Bear Youth Coalition campaign to save the spirit bear.

The issues being addressed through C3 are amongst the most important of our time and we’re honoured to be doing our small part to help spark, listen, reflect and evolve this dialogue in order to find new solutions that can make every Canadian proud.

We will post updates during Simon’s journey and work to engage you in the conversation as we all work to do our part to make Canada’s next 150 better for all life.
